Yet Another Quick Shipping Update
over 3 years ago – Fri, Jan 15, 2021 at 12:41:47 AM

Hey Everybody,

After talking with the warehouse, they aren't going to be able to get to our stuff until next week. Just wanted to send this out so people aren't checking their tracking numbers! I'll make a post when everything goes out.

Logistics has definitely been a mess this season, but I do still apologize for not having a more realistic timeline from the start. For this last leg, I assumed the warehouse would be able to get to our stuff in a couple of days, but hopefully that will/can be the last thing I underestimate. You'll hear from me again soon! For now, here are some critters.

Thank you,

Jon

Quick Shipping Update!
over 3 years ago – Fri, Jan 08, 2021 at 11:30:01 PM

Hey Everybody,

I just had an entire update written out to explain that delivery to the warehouse was missed again today and would need to try again next week, but right before I posted I got an update from the warehouse that they received the shipment from DHL!  With the time differences I usually just get updates in the morning with what happened or didn't happen the previous day, and the last info I had didn't sound promising because the trucker finally got the boxes, but it was too late to deliver to the warehouse. Luckily the warehouse stayed open a bit later so they could finish the delivery. Come Monday the pallets will get broken down and everything will get organized, and sometime next week things will get moving. I promise I will send out an update when the shipping starts so you guys don't have to be checking tracking for updates.

Very sorry for the delays, but trying to get things out of STG (the logistics company that handles the ocean freight in Long Beach) has been... tricky and not as straight forward as I had imagined. I was being told it was 4+ hour waits in line for the truckers and then other issues on top of that, so it ended up taking multiple tries. I don't know if it's always like that or just special to this year, but I'm beyond relieved things made it to the warehouse.

Sorry again for the delays, but so very close. I'll post another update hopefully early/mid next week. As always, holler with any questions!

The final stretch!

Happy New Year Everybody!

Writing a quick update here to keep everybody filled in on the progress. I'm currently on the last steps of organizing all of the postage labels and plan to purchase everything after a quick chat with tech support on Monday. It's my first time using this postage system, but according to theory an email should get sent with your tracking info after the purchase. As of December 31st, everything was off the boat and ready for pickup, but was told by DHL there wouldn't be a truck until most likely Monday for local delivery to the warehouse. I keep tripping on my time estimates so don't want to say anything too definite, but I'm hoping packages will start hitting the mail by middle or late this week and your tracking numbers will start to show some updates when they leave the warehouse!

One thing I want to mention for some of my international customers, especially those in the UK/Europe, is that this year there was no way for me to change the classification of packages to anything other than merchandise since it's being shipped from a commercial warehouse. I did what I could to keep VAT and import duties to a minimum, but wanted to let people know that their experience with local delivery may be different from last year. Sorry there's not more I can do in this department, but my hands are kind of tied this year.

But that's it! Hopefully at the beginning of the week you'll get tracking info and things will start moving by the middle/end of the week. Thank you to everybody again for your continued patience this year. As always, holler with any questions, comments, or concerns!

Shipping Update!
over 3 years ago – Mon, Dec 21, 2020 at 10:26:33 AM

Hey Everybody,

Sorry for the bit of radio silence here, but wanted to wait until I had some more solid information before making an update. As it is right now, it seems like the ship got to LA on the 17th, but waiting for everything to get unloaded and through customs. I've heard from DHL and also other sources that there's quite a backup at the ports, so it's probably going to be until beginning of next week at the earliest until everything gets to the warehouse. Once things get there, it should only be a couple of days for them to pack everything and ship all of the packages.

Except possibly for people close to the west coast, I'm assuming we're going to miss Christmas delivery by a couple of days. If there's anything I can do to help create some sort of letter or place marker for a gift until everything is finally delivered, please let me know and I can send something explaining what will be in the package and where it's coming from. At this point, it's really the only thing I can think to do. If you're interested, send me a message with any personal info you'd like added (name of receiver, if you want me to list the items or not, if you'd like me to add photos or not) and I'll get it to you by beginning of next week to print or share electronically. Since some people have yarn and others have finished items, it would be a little hard for me to make a general form that would fit everybody without it sounding too goofy!

Anyways, thank you to everybody for being understanding and patient so far. ALMOST THERE! Barring any hiccups, you guys will hear from me again when things start shipping and I can start sending out tracking numbers.

THANK YOU!

Shipping Update and Locking Addresses!
over 3 years ago – Sat, Nov 28, 2020 at 09:07:23 AM

Hey Everybody,

Happy Thanksgiving! Been a lot happening this year but still a ton to be thankful for, some of which is the awesome yarn coming everybody's way soon! As most things are this year, arranging shipping has been a bit goofy, but have the final schedule in line to get to America. Was told originally things would get into America first week of December, but the actual date that everything will dock in Los Angeles is December 14th, of which I have tracking for and everything. If we're a bit lucky, it will just take a couple of days to get through customs and arrange ground delivery to the warehouse where things will start going out. Might be some miracles left in us yet for holiday delivery!

For final shipping addresses, I'm going to start locking addresses on Backerkit to get everything lined up. You should get an email with a link to adjust things if you need to, otherwise everything will be confirmed automatically. If you don't get an email and need to change things, you can always get back to your account my following this link - Backerkit Sign In. And still up until shipping, use the code KSFREESHIP for free shipping on the www.UlaAndLia.com website for addons that will be packaged and sent out together next month.

At this point, you guys will hear from me when everything gets to the states if there aren't any other goofy things that happen. As always, holler with any questions, comments, concerns on facebook, instagram, or our Ravelry group.

THANK YOU!

Jon
